A young man is the city's latest homicide victim after he was shot and killed in the city's east end Wednesday night.

Police say they were called to an address near Midland and Eglinton Avenues just after 8:15 p.m. after outdoor gunfire erupted between a group of people and a lone male.

A male victim in his late teens or early twenties was rushed to hospital in crucial condition with wounds to his upper body. He was pronounced dead in hospital at about 1 a.m., police say.

Officers say they were looking for two to four suspects who were last seen in a 2004 black Pontiac Grand Prix.

The city's latest murder comes after one man and five others were injured in several separate shootings in Toronto on Tuesday night.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS
