cp24.com

Six people who arrived in Toronto on a small plane Friday night are safe after the pilot overshot the runway at the Island Airport.

The plane was attempting to land at the airport at about 9:45 p.m. when it missed the runway, according to the marine unit of the Toronto police.

It is unclear what size of plane it was, although police confirm it was carrying a pilot and five passengers.

Visibility was extremely poor at the time of the incident, with fog and drizzle blanketing downtown Toronto.
