Elderly man dies following morning mid-town crash

A 74-year-old Toronto man has died following a two car crash at the intersection of Davisville Avenue and Yonge Street on Monday morning.

Police say the driver was stopped for a traffic signal when he suddenly accelerated his Toyota Camry through the intersection and collided head-on with parked truck.

The man was rushed to hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.

Police are appealing for the public's help as they investigate the incident.
