Shots, stabs exchanged in Don Mills brawl

Two young men are in hospital – one with a stab wound and the other with a gunshot wound -- after a fight between two large groups of teenagers in the Don Mills Road and Highway 401 area.

It isn't clear what sparked the dispute on Graydon Hall Drive, not far from George S. Henry Academy, but police are calling it gang related. They say 30 to 100 teens were involved.

A gun was pulled at some point during the confrontation and several teens began running away down the street. Witnesses say it was pandemonium.

A 16-year-old victim was shot twice, taking one bullet in the back. A second person, also 16, was stabbed. The two wounded teens are in hospital. They're listed in stable condition and police say their injuries are not life-threatening.

Police set up a command post in the area as they searched for suspects. No weapons have been recovered and no arrests have been made, but police are reporting good co-operation from witnesses.
