MARKHAM, Ont. — York region police have unveiled a museum-quality clay bust of a man whose remains were found almost 30 years ago in Markham, Ont.

The remains were found July 16, 1980, by a motorist near the side of a road and have never been identified.

Police say the victim is a white male with dark brown hair. He stood about five-foot-six, had a slim build, and would have been between 25 and 40 years old at the time of his death.

A pair of women's red high-heeled shoes, along with white socks and jeans were found near the remains and police believe the victim had been wearing those items.

Police are hoping the new facial reconstruction and clothing description will help officers identify the young man and the circumstances of his death.
