Worker injured in downtown electrical explosion

The Ministry of Labour has been called in to investigate after a worker was injured inside a downtown office building on Wednesday evening.

Emergency crews rushed to 151 Front St. W. near Simcoe Street, at about 9 p.m. for reports of an electrical explosion.

Police say the victim suffered some serious burn injuries. He was treated at the scene by paramedics and has been transported to hospital.

Ministry of Labour employees are trying to determine what sparked the explosion.
