A 60-year-old woman has died after being struck by a bus at Mount Pleasant Road and Eglinton Avenue Monday morning.

Police say the pedestrian was struck just before 7 a.m. Paramedics worked frantically to revive the victim, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Emergency Medical Services says the victim had “significant” injuries.

Eglinton Avenue had been closed in both directions from Mount Pleasant Road to Brownlow Avenue.

Police say the woman worked just south of where she was killed and was wearing dark clothing at the time.
