Annex apartment destroyed in 3-alarm blaze

The Fire Marshal is investigating after a ground-level apartment was completely destroyed in a three-alarm blaze in the Annex Wednesday night.

Crews were called to the blaze at 191 St. George St. just before midnight, police say. Firefighters quickly evacuated the building and extinguished the blaze – which was contained to one unit.

The tenant was taken to hospital with burns to his left arm and leg, police say.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
