A four-year-old girl is in serious condition following a two-vehicle crash in Milton Monday morning.
Police say a black Honda Civic travelling south on Trafalgar Road near Britannia Road began to experience mechanical difficulties, so the driver pulled over.
While the 28-year-old woman driving the car pulled off to the shoulder, a portion of the vehicle remained parked on the roadway when it was rear-ended by a white utility van just after 7 a.m., police say.
The child – travelling in the Civic – was airlifted to a Toronto hospital with life-threatening injuries and is in serious condition. The drivers of the Civic and the van were also taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
