Two underground explorers caused a stink when they descended into Toronto's sewer system.

Police were called after the two were spotted entering a sewer late Sunday night.

A Hazmat team, firefighters and city works crews were all sent in after them, and four hours later the two were found and returned to the surface world.

Twenty-seven-year-old Michael Cook and 35-year-old Andrew Edmond are now facing mischief charges.

The two run a website chronicling their exploits in Toronto's underground.

But it's unlikely they made fans of the emergency crews who had to find them at considerable expense to taxpayers -- not to mention the other, more important work they might have been doing.
