The Special Investigations Unit is probing the death of a man in Markdale, Ont. on Monday.
Sgt. Dave Rektor says police were called at 2:30 a.m. for an incident on West Back Line -- about one kilometre southwest of the town, which is south of Owen Sound.
A man was allegedly riding a tractor and shooting out the windows of a home. He then rammed police cruisers and shot at officers.
Rektor says no officers were hurt.
The SIU is called in when police are involved with a civilian's injury or death.
