Canada Day celebrations mean many people around Toronto will be taking the day off -- including those who work at banks, liquor stores and libraries, which will all be closed.

However, municipal garbage, green and blue box collection will also go ahead on the regular Thursday schedule in Toronto.

GO Transit will run on a Saturday schedule and TTC will be running on its holiday service schedule.

Most malls, grocery stores, and all post offices will also shut their doors, although shoppers can still get their fix at the Eaton Centre, Pacific Mall, Square One and Vaughan Mills malls.

Most tourist attractions will be open, including Ontario Place, the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Royal Ontario Museum and the CN Tower.
