Where Lee Stands on the Big Issues Facing Toronto:

1. How would you tackle the city's financial challenges?

First of all it needs to be assessed, reviewed with a fine tuned comb and new eyes.

2. What would you do with the city's tax rate?

Taxes should consistently be considered and reviewed. It's how the city makes money to a degree and pays for the important services that we provide.

3. What would you do to lower the city's crime rate?

We need to address the root of the problem. I think what is happening here that people are not addressing the crimes that are reoccurring and that is adding to the crime numbers.

4. What are your thoughts on Transit City?

There were funds promised. If you make a promise you keep it. But I am concerned about getting more subways that we can't keep clean and safe. I think there are core issues that we need to address. Yes we are going to build Transit City, but we need to take care of what we have now.

5. Should the city be painting more bike lanes?

I want bike lanes, but they will not be across the entire city. I would like to build bike depots where cyclists can store their bikes and then you can walk the rest of the way.

6. Do you believe the city should charge road tolls?

I think road tolls are a little extreme. There may be room for it, but it's not where I'd start to offset costs.

7. How would you go about cleaning up the city?

I would make sure people get clean rides on the TTC. We would have a program called 'Priding Your Ride.' I would work with TTC drivers and give them incentives to walk through and cleanup their bus at the end of the route. We also need to address problems of garbage overflow immediately.

8. What would you do to breathe even more life into our city?

Life is here, and I believe this city is great. The problem is that people who are providing this very unique atmosphere are shunned and not embraced. I want people to be proud of the city.

9. What would you do to improve transparency inside city hall?

It's there now. I think the transparency flows through all offices and I will make sure there is full transparency. That will let me analyze what is going on with all of the city's agencies. I will then be able to make sure the city
