PICKERING, Ont. - The president of Seneca College says they are grieving the loss of two students and a flight instructor who died during a training flight Thursday night northeast of Toronto.
The victims have been identified as flight instructor Azizullah Yoosufani, 26, and two third-year students, Cynthia Hoi-Mei Tsang, 20, and Lloyd Myles Cripps, 20, who were in Seneca's four-year flight program.
A police helicopter located the wreckage of the Beechcraft F-33A Bonanza near Whitevale Road, south of Highway 407, in north Pickering.
Officials from the Transportation Safety Board remain at the site today, trying to determine the cause of the crash.
College president David Agnew says there will be a private memorial for the victims next week.
He issued a statement giving thanks for the support they have received since the crash.
"Senecans are dealing with a tremendous loss. Our hearts are with the families affected and we are coming together to support the students, faculty and staff who have lost friends and colleagues," Agnew said in a statement.
"We want to thank our many colleagues in the college community and the aviation industry for the sympathy they have shown and their expressions of support at this very difficult time."
