The provincial government says it will not fund the bed-bug battle plan coming out of the City of Toronto.

The city was looking to the province for money to hire more staff to help battle bed bugs.

A spokesman for the Minister of Health says Queen's Park is looking at other options, and examining recommendations from the Bed Bug Summit held at Queen's Park last month.

City councillor Paula Fletcher is among those who would like to see the province pitch in $2.8 million to help fight the pests.

So far this year, more than 3,500 apartments have been inspected for the pests.
