Toronto police continue to search for a suspect or suspects after a man in his 20s was shot at Scarborough Town Centre on Monday afternoon.

The victim was shot in the chest on a TTC bus and rushed to Sunnybrook Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries. He was in stable condition Tuesday.

Police are looking for at least one male suspect believed to be in his late teens or early 20s. The male ran from the scene.

Police haven't released a description of the suspect.

Shortly after the shooting, a silver handgun was found in a trash can at a house on Lynnbrook Drive, less than two kilometres from the scene.

Police are investigating whether the gun was used in the shooting. Officers emptied a bullet from the gun's chamber.

Investigators are also analyzing surveillance video to identify the shooter.
