Southern Alberta Integrated Fugitive Apprehension (IFA) has arrested a man wanted in connection with an attempted murder in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

RCMP arrested Ahmed Abdulqadir Abdi in Brooks on May 31, 2011 as part of an assault investigation.

It was determined Abdi had been living in Calgary using an alias.

Fingerprint testing confirmed his identity and the IFA notified the U.S. Marshals service.

Abdi is being held in Edmonton awaiting his next court appearance on June 13, 2011.
