KINGSTON - A strike-lockout deadline came and went overnight with Queen's University and its staff members still trying to work out a deal.

The talks were adjourned this morning while the union considers the latest offer from the university in Kingston, Ont.

No other details have been released about the negotiations aimed at preventing 1,200 employees at Queen's from walking a picket line.

The talks involve faculty, adjuncts, librarians and archivists.
