NIAGARA FALLS - Niagara Parks Police say a body that was pulled from the Niagara River was a 20-year-old Japanese student who was swept over Niagara Falls last Sunday.

The body was discovered at around 10 a.m. on Thursday by an employee at the Cave of the Winds, a tourist attraction on the American side of the falls.

Police say the woman was visiting the Canadian side when she climbed over a railing along the river and fell in near the brink of the falls.

The strong current swept her over.

Her body was taken to a Buffalo, N.Y., hospital for an autopsy and identification.

Classmates at the Hansa Language Centre in Toronto identified the woman as Ayano Tokumasu.
