If the digital simulation is any indication, a thrilling new ride that's in the works at Canada's Wonderland is a beast.
The Toronto-area theme park unveiled the new ride, dubbed Leviathan, on Thursday in a simulation that gives thrillseekers a glimpse into what they can expect when it debuts next May.
With a top speed of 148 kilometres-per-hour, Leviathan will be one of the biggest and tallest roller-coasters in the world, Canada's Wonderland said in a news release.
Riders who are brave enough to give it a try will climb to a height of 93.3 metres before an 80-degree plunge that will have them screaming at the top of their lungs.
After that, they'll be taken on a series of giant camelback hills reaching up to 55 metres and an overbanked hammerhead turn at 115 degrees.
Once construction is complete, Leviathan will be the theme park's 16th roller-coaster, said Raffi Kaprelyan, vice-president and general manager of Canada's Wonderland.
The ride is designed and manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard of Switzerland. The company also built Behemoth, another roller-coaster at Canada's Wonderland.
