Fire officials are investigating the cause of a blaze that broke out in the underground parkade of a Weston Road apartment block early Thursday morning.

It's believed a vehicle was on fire in the parkade at 2240 Weston Rd., just south of Highway 401.

Fire crews were called to the two-alarm blaze at about 2:15 a.m.

Smoke was pouring out of the parkade as firefighters battled the blaze.

As a precaution, residents of the first couple floors were evacuated until the fire was brought under control and it was safe to return.

Firefighters battled the blaze for up to three hours.

No injuries were reported.
