A female cyclist is dead after she was struck by a truck in Toronto's west end late Monday morning, police say.

The collision occurred at Dundas Street West and Stirling Avenue shortly before 11:45 a.m.

Reports from the scene said that the victim, a woman in her 40s, was a resident of the area and the mother of a young child.

Police have yet to identify the victim.

The woman is the second cyclist killed in Toronto this year.

There is no word on whether charges we be laid.

Dundas between Lansdowne Avenue and Sorauren Avenue reopened to traffic shortly after 5 p.m. Monday afternoon.
