TORONTO - A labourer who came to Canada from Belarus says it's still sinking in that he's now a multimillionaire.

Alexander Berkovich, 27, of Maple, Ont., north of Toronto, won the $11.8-million jackpot in the Lotto 6-49 draw on Nov. 26.

It was his brother who told him the happy news on Sunday, after checking their tickets at a self scanner.

Berkovich says he was so shocked, he had to check the numbers three times online.

A labourer and machinist, Berkovich says he's going to quit his job and will take his time deciding what to do with all his millions.

But he's sure he'll be sharing some of it with his family, including his brother.

"I've thought about going back to school but I have not planned yet for any big purchases," said Berkovich, who showed up with his mother and brother at the lottery prize centre in Toronto on Monday.

"It'll be nice not to have to think about money all the time," he said with a smile.

Berkovich says he plays 6-49 and Lotto Max regularly, buying a couple of tickets every Friday.

"I feel like I'm telling a lie when I let people know that I just won more than $11 million," he said.
