An 82-year-old man is dead after he was struck by a vehicle in midtown Toronto on Friday afternoon.

Police spokesman Const. Tony Vella told CP24 the collision occurred at Anderson and Duplex avenues, near Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue, at about 12:35 p.m.

The intersection is controlled by a three-way stop.

The driver remained at the scene.

The man was rushed to hospital, but succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

Members of the traffic services division are investigating the circumstances of the collision.

No one has been charged.
