TOWNSHIP OF RAMARA, Ont. -- Provincial police say two men are injured after a float plane crashed into a central Ontario field.

Police say the single-engine Cessna float plane went down Tuesday afternoon in an open field in Ramara Township, southeast of Orillia.

Investigators say the plane had just taken off from a neighbouring property.

Two men -- one from Peterborough, Ont., and the other from Ramara Township -- were conscious when police arrived and were transported to hospital.

Police say one man has minor injuries while the other was more seriously injured.

Transport Canada has been advised of the incident.
