COLUMBUS, Ga. -- Goaltender Shannon Szabados has earned her first win in the Southern Professional Hockey League.
She made 34 saves for the Columbus Cottonmouths in a 5-4 overtime win over the Fayetteville FireAntz on Friday.
It was also the first win of the season for Columbus (1-8).
Szabados backstopped the Canadian women's hockey team to Olympic gold in both 2010 and 2014.
The 28-year-old from Edmonton signed with Columbus late last season and went 0-2 in her starts.
Szabados re-signed with the Cottonmouths in the off-season and was 0-2 prior to Friday's win.
