TORONTO - Sebastian Giovinco took over the MLS scoring lead with hat trick as Toronto FC beat the New England Revolution 4-1 on Saturday night at BMO Field.

The win stretches Toronto's home-unbeaten streak to nine games, and its current win streak to a season-best four games. TFC (10-7-6) moves a point back of New York City FC for the top spot in the Eastern Conference with a game in hand on NYCFC.

Giovinco now has two three-goal games this season. His 15 goals lead all MLS players - two better than David Villa of NYCFC in the race for the Golden Boot.

The loss is the first for New England (6-9-8) in four visits to BMO Field. The Revs had not lost in Toronto since a 1-0 defeat on May 22, 2010, a stretch of six games.

The Atomic Ant got the Reds on the board in the 20th minute, putting the rebound off of Michael Bradley's strike past Revs keeper Bobby Shuttleworth.

The Revs had an excellent opportunity to tie the game at 1-1 in the 25th minute but Bradley, who returned to the Reds lineup after missing seven games due to a knee injury, managed to keep Kelyn Rowe's strike from finding the back of the net.
