KRASNAYA POLAYNA, Russia -- Canada's Dara Howell has won Canada's fourth gold medal of the Sochi Olympics.

The Huntsville, Ont., native won the inaugural women's slopestyle ski competition.

She scored 94.20 in her first run.

Quebec City's Kim Lamarre won bronze with an 85.00 second run while Devin Logan of the U.S. took silver.

Yuki Tsubota of Whistler, B.C., was taken off the course on a stretcher after a nasty crash off a jump.

It appeared that Tsubota's knee was driven into her face as she tried to make the landing.

Tsubota finished sixth with a 71.60 first run.

Medal favourite Kaya Turski of Montreal fell twice in qualifying.
