TORONTO - Richard Clune scored the go-ahead goal late in the third period as the Toronto Marlies advanced to the American Hockey League's Eastern Conference final with a 4-3 victory over the Albany Devils in Game 7 on Monday.

Kasperi Kapanen had a goal and an assist for the Marlies, who will face the Hershey Bears in the next round beginning Friday in Pennsylvania.

Connor Carrick and Connor Brown, while shorthanded, also scored for Toronto and Antoine Bibeau made 25 saves.

Paul Thompson rattled off two goals for Albany. Nick Lappin had the other while Scott Wedgewood turned aside 20 shots.

Thompson tied the game twice, at 1-1 in the second period and 3-3, 15:19 into the third. Clune replied two minutes later to retake the lead.

Neither team scored on the power play. The Marlies were 0 for 1 while Albany was 0 for 2.
