Retailers in the city are banking on Torontonians staying north of the border to paint the town black this Friday.

A day infamous for bargain hunters looking to score rock-bottom prices, Black Friday has for years been a shopping event reserved for retailers south of the border.

This year, however, shopping centres and shop owners alike are offering up a slew of incentives, including earlier opening hours, in an attempt to satisfy savings-starved holiday shoppers.

Below is a list of some of the incentives GTA malls will be offering.

The Toronto Eaton Centre is kicking off the day at 6 a.m. In an effort to get shoppers through the doors early, the mall will be offering a $10 mall gift card to the first 100 shoppers to visit guest services located on mall’s second level.

Similarly, Vaughan Mills will open its doors two hours early - at 8 a.m. - and will also offer shoppers a dedicated Black Friday shuttle service direct to the mall from Union Station.

The shuttle will depart from the station at 7 a.m., 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The mall will also have live circus performers to entertain the crowd preforming from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
