TORONTO - A Toronto man is facing a first-degree murder charge in the shooting death of another man at an east-end sports bar last month.

Police say Nicholas Walker, 37, was charged Thursday in the death of Clifenton Ford on March 28.

Ford, 38, was found suffering from a gunshot wound at G's Chill and Grill Sports Bar at 2528 Eglinton Ave. East.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Walker was to appear in court this morning at 1911 Eglinton Ave. E.

Toronto police homicide Insp. Edward Boyd said investigators were helped by patrons of the bar who came forward, and by those who contacted Crime Stoppers.

"There are still some patrons who have not come forward. I would ask them to please contact us as soon as possible," Boyd said.
