Halton Regional Police say they have arrested three 19-year-olds after a weekend house party with about 100 people got out of hand in Burlington.

Police say they were asked by the homeowner to remove the partygoers just before midnight on Saturday when one officer asked a male to leave his beer bottle behind. The male assaulted the officer and then resisted arrest, police say.

A friend then tried to intervene in the arrest before several others leaving the party started throwing beer cans and bottles toward the officers and their cruisers. Police say nobody was injured.

Dan Simon, 19, of Burlington has been charged with assaulting police and resisting arrest. Joey Brown, 19, of Burlington has been charged with obstructing police. Jesse Lamb, 19, of Oakville has been charged with mischief under $5,000.

The accused were released and are scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 16, 2009.
