Two people are dead following a high-speed chase on Highway 11.
The incident began at 4:17 a.m. Tuesday when a vehicle refused to pull over for an OPP officer.
A chase followed and the vehicle exited Highway 11. at Memorial Avenue in Orillia, crashing near Memorial Avenue and Dunn Avenue.
A 28-year-old man and 19-year-old woman were both killed in the single-vehicle accident.
They were initially transported to Soldier's Memorial Hospital, but succumbed to their injuries.
The Special Investigations Unit has set up a mobile command unit at the scene.
Any witnesses are asked to contact police.
No identities have been released.
