Toronto police have charged two men in connection with a fraud investigation.

Police allege that on Sunday, Dec. 2, two men went door-to-door in a highrise apartment located within 33 Division.

Stating that they were police cadets, and wearing police foundations training T-shirts and buttons, the two men requested cash or toy donations for children, police say.

Two men, one 21, the other 22, have been charged with fraud under $5,000.

Their names have not been released.

The two are scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 18.

Police want the public to know that they do not conduct this type of door-to-door solicitation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at 416-808-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
