A 60-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle and killed Friday morning in North York.

The woman was crossing the street at Finch and Driftwood Avenues when she was struck by an eastbound van at around 6 a.m. Witnesses tried to help her by administering CPR, police said, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident was one of two involving pedestrians on Friday morning.

A 74-year-old woman was also struck by a City of Toronto vehicle near Silverthorn Avenue and Rogers Road at around 10 a.m.

The woman was taken to hospital with unknown injuries, according to police.
