WINDSOR, Ont. - It's back to the bargaining table for the union representing Windsor's municipal workers, who have been striking for more than three months.

Some 1,800 inside and outside workers rejected Thursday the latest contract offer from the southwestern Ontario city.

Union officials are calling the results a "resounding no," but say they won't be releasing the exact number of votes against the deal.

Mayor Eddie Francis is calling the results "disappointing."

A special session of Windsor Council will be convened Friday dealing with the continued labour dispute.

The strike has dragged on since mid-April.
