Homicide detectives are actively seeking witnesses after they found a bloodied 28-year-old woman lying lifeless on a Markham driveway early Friday morning.

The woman was found on Norbury Drive, near 14th Avenue and Markham Road, without vital signs at around 6:15 a.m.  She was rushed to Markham-Stoufville Hospital but was pronounced dead soon afterwards.

Blood could be seen on the driveway and garage but investigators tell CP24 they are still trying to determine what happened to the woman.

Police have confirmed the woman is from Markham but have not said if she was found in front of her own home. Neighbours told CP24 that the home was a rental property and that the current inhabitants had not been living there for long.

The woman's family is still being notified of her death which is why her identity is being withheld from the public for now.

Police have asked anyone who has surveillance cameras installed on their property to check the video for clues and are appealing to anyone with information to call investigators immediately.
