Police are currently reviewing video surveillance footage and are looking to speak with witnesses after two men were shot to death inside a West Queen West condominium unit this morning.
It happened on the 22nd floor of a building located on Lisgar Street just after 7 a.m.
Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
“Right now, they are only known to us as adult men,” Toronto police Det. Tam Bui said early Sunday afternoon. “We’re investigating their identification in order to make next of kin notification.”
Bui said it is still unclear whether the victims lived inside the unit where the shooting occurred.
“We have some information there was several parties going on in the building last night,” Bui said. “We do not know what connection the shooting might have to those parties.”
Bui would not comment on whether the victims were targeted.
In a news release issued Sunday afternoon, police said they were looking for four persons of interest. They described all four as "dark-skinned men in their mid-twenties." One of the men was described as east African, possibly Somali, who speaks with a "distinct southern American drawl."
Police said they are looking for two cars involved in the shooting. The first is a newer model silver compact car, which may have suffered damage as it fled the scene. The second vehicle is described as a brown compact.
Bui said that a number of witnesses have been identified, and that police are interested in speaking with anyone who may have knowledge of the incident.
Post mortem examinations for the two victims are scheduled to take place at 9:30 a.m. Monday morning, Bui said.
