Downtown traffic was temporarily impacted by a piece of falling concrete Monday afternoon.

City of Toronto spokesperson Steve Johnston confirmed that a 10-pound piece of the Gardiner Expressway fell onto the westbound lanes of Lakeshore Boulevard east of Bathurst Street early Monday afternoon.

Crews were out on the scene shortly after to remove debris.

Johnston said crews would likely return to the scene tomorrow to asses the situation.

All lanes of Lakeshore Boulevard have reopened after being temporarily closed.
