TORONTO - An alleged ringleader of last June's G20 protests in Toronto has been released from jail.

Alex Hundert was released from a Toronto jail on Jan. 24 after agreeing to plead guilty to a single count of breaching recognizance.

That charge stemmed from Hundert's appearance at a panel discussion last Sept. 17 at Ryerson University -- a breach of the "no protest" condition of his bail.

Hundert was initially arrested in a house raid in June, was released on bail and had then been in jail since his re-arrest in September.

Several other charges against Hundert have also been dropped and he says the Crown has agreed to stop proceedings to collect $120,000 from his sureties.

Hundert says he doesn't see the plea bargain as a "sell out" in exchange for his personal freedom.
