City crews will be inspecting a section of the Gardiner Expressway on Tuesday after a chunk of concrete fell onto Lake Shore Boulevard.

The 4.5-kilogram piece of concrete hit a guardrail and landed on part of westbound Lake Shore Boulevard on Monday afternoon.

The chunk fell from an elevated portion of the Gardiner near Bathurst Street.

No injuries were reported.

Crews will be inspecting the expressway to ensure it is safe.

A spokesperson for the city said employees do regular checks on the Gardiner at least once a year.
