TORONTO - Tim Connolly scored the winner in the second period and Drew MacIntyre made 17 saves Saturday as the Toronto Marlies snapped a two-game skid with a 2-1 win over the Hershey Bears in the American Hockey League.

Andrew Crescenzi, playing in just his fourth professional game, had the other goal for Toronto (26-17-4).

Casey Wellman replied for Hershey (23-20-7), which got 20 saves from Danny Sabourin.

After Toronto took a 2-1 lead on Connolly's goal, MacIntyre, playing in his first game since signing a professional tryout on Wednesday, held the fort.

He turned aside Wellman on a partial breakaway in the second and then made multiple saves off of Boyd Kane in close just over a minute later.

After Crescenzi game the Marlies the lead in the first period, Toronto got into penalty trouble in the second and the Bears capitalized with Connolly in the box for slashing. Wellman put a feed from Ryan Potulny past MacIntyre stickside for his eighth of the season.
