Construction is set to begin Monday on a security fence in preparation for the G20 summit scheduled in Toronto later this month.

The fence will circle an area around the Metro Toronto Convention Centre where government leaders and the finance ministers of the world's wealthiest countries will gather June 26 and 27.

Officials say the fence will stand about 8-feet high and will be about three-metres wide. There will be no razor wire on top.

Construction on the fence will continue night and day until it's complete. Only those with proper photo identification will be allowed to enter this area.

A second security zone, described as a traffic perimeter with police checkpoints, will be set up from Yonge Street to Spadina Avenue, Queens Quay to King Street.
