CP24 is marking the 30th anniversary of "Holocaust Education Week," with a tribute to survivors on Tuesday night.

The week, which started on Nov. 1, is the largest educational forum of its kind, featuring leading voices in genocide and human rights awareness at venues across the GTA.

This year's theme is "We Who Survived", and more than 30,000 people are expected to attend over 150 educational and cultural programmes.

Some of the events, which are in French, Hebrew and Russian, are taking place in synagogues, churches, hospitals, universities, public libraries, seniors' residences and in over 35 schools.

There are over 23,000 Holocaust survivors in Canada, and more half of them live in the GTA.

Tune in to CP24 at 9 p.m. to watch live coverage of Holocaust Education Week, including the stories of a number of survivors, and educators.
