NEWMARKET, Ont. - The Crown is scheduled to make its opening statement today at a double-murder trial in Newmarket, Ont.
Chris Little is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of two women in nearby Markham, Ont., in February, 2007.
The bodies of Little's estranged wife, Julie Crocker -- a 33-year-old mother of two -- and Paula Menendez were found in Crocker's home.
Menendez was the estranged wife of Crocker's new boyfriend.
Police have said Little and Crocker were in the process of planning a legal separation, although no formal filings had apparently been made.
