Drivers had to deal with an early morning distraction on the Gardiner after a deer wandered onto the highway.
Police blocked a westbound lane near Jameson Avenue and were even talking about shutting down the expressway at one point because a deer was lying near the roadway around 5 a.m.
There were unconfirmed reports that deer was injured, but it was able to run off when animal control officers tried to approach.
The deer hasn't been seen since.
