TORONTO - Provincial police say a man faces a slew of charges after talking on a cellphone during a high-speed chase in Toronto.

Police allege a white Mercedes was travelling 141 kilometres per hour -- 41 kilometres an hour over the posted speed limit -- on Saturday morning.

Sgt. Gerry Lannigan told CTV News that officers tried to pull the driver over, but he was talking on a cellphone.

The pursuit lasted six kilometres before the vehicle crashed into a police cruiser.

The driver faces charges of impaired driving, stunt driving and talking on a cellphone.

His vehicle was impounded.
