A man is in custody after claiming he was carjacked early Monday morning.
Police were called at about 2 a.m. after a vehicle crashed on the ramp from Rexdale Boulevard to the northbound lanes of Highway 427.
The driver allegedly ran from the wreck to a nearby gas station where he called police. Investigators say the man claimed he was carjacked at gunpoint, but police believe he made that story up.
Witnesses at the scene say the driver was taken into custody on the suspicion of impaired driving.
