TORONTO - Punk rock pioneer Patti Smith will bring her touring exhibition to the Art Gallery of Ontario next February.

The AGO says "Patti Smith: Camera Solo" will be on view from Feb. 9 to May 19, 2013.

The exhibit will feature over 75 works of photography, objects and film from the musician who made waves on the punk scene of the late 1970s and '80s.

Several of the objects come from the Patti Smith archive, including Pope Benedict XV's slippers and her Polaroid Land 250 camera.

Smith also directed the exhibition's short film, "Equation Daumal," shot by Jem Cohen on 16mm and Super 8 film.

The AGO says the exhibit shows "a different side" of Smith, who's also an artist and poet.
