The family of little Kyus Caines, the boy who died after being struck by lightning earlier this month in a Brampton park is hoping someone will return a stolen video tape that contains the last video captured of their son.

The Caines are hoping for the return of their video camera that was stolen from a garage in Mississauga in early July.

The camera contained a tape with the last video taken of Kyus' kindergarten graduation ceremony.

They don't care about the camera but are pleading with the thief to turn in the video cartridge.

The family held a tribute in honour of the boy Saturday at the same park where the lightning struck him.

"We did donate both his kidneys. We felt that he wasn't going to make it regardless, but now another family doesn't have to go through this," said his mother.

"Whoever got them is going to be strong because he was very strong," she said.

Kyus died Friday after he was taken off life support. He was struck by lightning at Centennial Park in Brampton on August 12th while carrying his metal scooter on his shoulder.

His mother Dulce Caines and his 3-year-old friend were also hit but recovered.

Dulce and the boy's father Oral Caines were joined by relatives at the park Saturday to remember their son and offer thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers.
